Finding Funds for Education

by Susan Farrell

Whether you're a single mom headed back to school to update your skills or the parent of a graduating teen hoping to go to college this fall, how to pay for schooling can raise your blood pressure faster than hot water on a thermometer. There are thousands of dollars every year that go unclaimed and unused because people never knew the money was even available or how to apply for it. In hopes of alleviating some of that pressure, we've listed some resources below. You may be eligible for several scholarships and grants, and there are rarely restrictions as to how many grants or scholarships you can use simultaneously to pay for education costs, but be sure to thoroughly read the guidelines for each. And remember, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

If in your search, you discover additional resources, please feel free to share them with us and we will check them out and add them to our site!

Susan Farrell is the single mother of two teenagers. Her many hobbies include writing, reading, gardening, cooking, traveling and camping, and trying new things with her children. Her motto: "Live, love, laugh." Life's just too short not to.
