Chicken Packets
submitted by August 1997 Mom's List

2 cups chicken -- cooked, chopped
1 package cream cheese -- (3 oz.) softened
1 teaspoon chives -- chopped
2 teaspoons milk
salt -- to taste
1/2 cup seasoned croutons -- crushed
2 packages crescent rolls
1/4 cup margarine -- melted

Mix chicken, cream cheese, chives, milk, and salt in a medium bowl (mixingwith hands works best) to make filling. Unroll crescent rolls. Each tubewill contain 4 rectangles of dough with a diagonal perforation. Pressdough along each perforation so the rectangle halves will not separate.Place about 1/4 cup of chicken mixture in to the center of each rectangle.Fold dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal tightly. (I use theedge of a fork.) Dip each packet in melted margarine, and coat with croutoncrumbs. Place on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20minutes or until golden brown. Packets are good either hot or cold.

NOTES: This is a once a month cookbook recipe. If you have kids, they will probably love this recipe because it's in a little bread packet. It isreally good!!! It may sound kind of complicated, but it's not really.
