Four Hour Stew

2 pounds lean beef -- cut for stew
1 package frozen peas
1 cup onion -- chopped
2 cups carrots -- sliced 1 inch thick
2 cups potatoes -- diced
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon chopped parsley -- or 1 bay leaf
-- Pour over all --
1 can tomato soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup -- or cream of celery

Put ingredients in a covered baking dish in the order given. There is noneed to stir. Cover and bake at 275 degrees for 4-5 hours.
