Well, I thought this might be a good time and place to find a community.
I just spent too much time in the last 3 weeks putting out home fires because I am a working computer Mom...and I just wanted to commiserate and connect.
Stats:
- 40 years old
- 2 kids: 4 years, 6 months
- just moved from Atlanta to NYC area (LI)
- husband works with an 1 1/2 hour commute (each way)
- renting and $$ tight in this overpriced part of the world
- trying to start my design firm over in new location
- working in corner of what used to be dining room in 2 BR house
- even my computer (Mac Quadra) is barely chugging away at its most maximum stress level
(I mean....half my time at the computer is spent with my daughter nursing in my lap, too
--probably more than you needed to know, huh)
So juggling with finding good childcare, wanting to spend more time with family, needing to network, intermittent complaints from husband about seeing the back of my head too much, needing to stay actively in the biz to stay in an ever-changing biz...and the inherent underpinnings of guilt and lack of self-confidence that comes with having been raised female.
so I don't know what else...just needed to rant...
Would love to create a site called "The Working Moms' Internet Refuge"
