- Check your supply of any medications your child will need during the summer.
- Review any and all restrictions with your pediatrician. Relay allpertinent information to the appropriate camp personnel ahead of time sothey can incorporate what is needed into the daily camp schedule.
- Teach children to take responsibility for applying their own suntanlotion. This will increase their chances for protection against thesun's damaging rays. One application per day is not enough. Advisethem to apply lotion before breakfast and before lunch.
- Baseball caps and sunglasses with UV protection are equally importantto prevent eye damage.
- If your child is prone to swimmer's ear, discuss with yourpediatrician placing a few drops of rubbing alcohol into your child'sear each night as a preventative measure.
- Floatation devices do not replace appropriate supervision for young children.
