Martha Beck is a career counselor, management consultant and writer, although she was trained as a sociologist. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with her husband, three children, an extremely loud beagle, and her best friend Karen, who is the one thing that has kept her out of the Home for the Bewildered.
